Research of Professor Shannon Stahl - Catalysis

Dr. Shannon Stahl is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. Professor Stahl and his research group of graduate and undergraduate students are working on developing effective catalysts for environmentally friendly reactions. In particular, these catalysts would be used for the selective oxidation of organic molecules by molecular oxygen. Currently, the pharmaceutical and chemical industries are using transition metal oxidants that can be hazardous to the environment.
