Transition Metals

As seen on the previous page, the middle of the periodic table contains the transition metals. Unlike other parts of the periodic table, elements in the entire block of transition metals have similar properties, not just the columns. For example, transition metals conduct heat and electricity well. They are also ductile and malleable (flexible/bendable).

Below is a picture of a copper wire. The copper is easily bent, as is shown in the second picture.
