Introduction to Stahl Group Research

Professor Shannon Stahl and his group are working on making new catalysts for environmentally friendly reactions. The catalysts Professor Stahl and his research group are working on would allow molecular oxygen (O2) to be used as an oxidant for many chemical reactions. Currently, many industrial plants are using oxidants that are harmful to the environment. Catalysts can be used to make drugs that can help people who are sick, and they are also used in the exhaust pipes of our cars to convert chemicals that are dangerous for the environment into more environmentally friendly chemicals.
