After researchers have done experiments and analyzed (looked at) their results, they often publish these findings in journals. Additionally, scientists hold conferences where people give talks on their work. These forms of sharing information can be very helpful to other researchers because they inspire new ideas and provide easily accessible scientific information.
For example, after the students in professor McMahon's group have obtained spectra of the molecules they study they publish these results to help educate people and to further the scientific knowledge that is available to others!
