Science for Kids Outreach Programs: College Students Teaching Science to Elementary Students and Their Parents  Birgit G. Koehler, Lee Y. Park, and Lawrence J. Kaplan
College students plan, develop, and present hands-on workshops to fourth-grade students and their parents, with faculty providing logistical support and pedagogical advice. The two-hour workshops, held one weekend on campus, emphasize hands-on experiments involving both the kids and the parents.
