Rates of Reactions
The effects of a variety of variables, including concentration, temperature and catalysts, on reaction rate are shown.
Kinetics
Relative Reactivity: Strong Acid, Weak Acid, Buffer Solution
A strong acid, a weak acid, and a buffer solution are each added to sodium bicarbonate and the reaction rates are compared.

Kinetics : FactorsAffectingRate (7 Variations)
Which of the following changes would NOT affect the rate of the reaction of cisplatin with water?
Pt(NH3)2Cl2(aq) + H2O(l) [Pt(NH3)2(H2O)Cl]+ + Cl-

Kinetics
Equilibrium : EquilAndRxnRates (8 Variations)

For the reaction of A B, which of the following statements about the rates of forward and reverse reactions is true at time x?

Kinetics : ArrheniusTemp (3 Variations)
The activation energy for the isomerization of cyclopropane to propene is 274 kJ/mol. By what factor does the rate of reaction increase as the temperature rises from 500oC to 550oC assuming all else remains constant? (R = 8.314 J/mol k)

Hint: This is asking for the ratio of rates which is proportional to the ratio of the rate constants, all else being equal.

Pedagogies:
Helping Students Make Sense of Logarithms and Logarithmic Relationships  Ed DePierro, Fred Garafalo, and Rick Toomey
This paper summarizes difficulties that chemistry students at all levels exhibit when translating, manipulating, and interpreting mathematical expressions containing logarithms, and offers approaches useful in helping students to overcome those difficulties.

Data Pooling in a Chemical Kinetics Experiment: The Aquation of a Series of Cobalt(III) Complexes  Richard S. Herrick, Kenneth V. Mills, and Lisa P. Nestor
Describes an experiment that introduces students to integrated rate laws, the search for a mechanism that is consistent with chemical and kinetic data, and the concept of activation barriers and their measurement in a curriculum whose pedagogical philosophy makes the laboratory the center of learning for undergraduates in their first two years of instruction.

Disorder and Chaos: Developing and Teaching an Interdisciplinary Course on Chemical Dynamics  Steven G. Desjardins
Describes an interdisciplinary course for nonscience majors that introduces ideas about mathematical modeling using examples based on pendulums, chemical kinetics, and population dynamics. Students learn about the nature of measurement and prediction through the use of spreadsheet software for the solution of equations and experimental data collection.

Mechanism-Based Kinetics Simulator  Robert M. Hanson
Simulate the kinetics of a reaction based on its mechanism using JavaScript. The idea is to write a mechanism and, based on that, follow the course of concentrations or rates of change in concentration of reactants, catalysts, intermediates, and products over time.

Kinetica; An Excel program to Stimulate or Analyze Kinetic Data  Leonel Vera, Pedro Ortega, Miguel Guzmán
The Excel spreadsheet Kinetica both simulates and analyzes kinetic data for simple rate equations of the form: - d[A]/dt = k [A]^n Instructors or students can generate simulated kinetic data using parameters they specify, or using parameters randomized by Kinetica. The data set that is generated may then be exported for use in exercises, homework, and exams, or may be analyzed directly within Kinetica. A kinetics data set may also be imported from an external source into Kinetica for analysis.
