Abstract
This document provides students with an introduction the determination of the internal energy and enthalpy of real gases. This builds to the calculaton of the Joule-Thomson coefficient and the determination of inversion temperatures for SO2. The document develops student skills in a systematic way and is carefully annotated for those who are just learning to use Mathcad. There are ample exercises to help students learn the concept of imperfection thermodynamic functions and determiniation of thermodynamic properties of real gases. The document concludes with a master exercise that could be used as a class project.
