Abstract
This document contains a series of exercises through which a student can explore the basic properties of waves. Students are lead through to the construction of a standing wave from waves moving in opposite directions. The document provides numerous opportunities for students to actively interact with the material and create their own animations. Practice with the Euler equations is also included. Animation of some of the wave function graphs further clarifies the properties of waves for students. Ample comments make this interactive document useful for independent study of the topic. References are included.
