The Balmer Series


This animation briefly introduces the basics of the emission spectra of one-electron atoms and ions. The first four lines of the Balmer series can be highlighted and the wavelengths read. There is a link to an Excel spreadsheet, Bohr1.xls, that explores these spectra in more detail.
