About ChemEd DL
The Chemical Education Digital Library (ChemEd DL) is the destination for digital content intended for chemical science education. We aim to be the place where you can contribute, share, and organize chemistry education materials. With oversight provided by the various communities that comprise ChemEd DL, we strive to provide the best of what chemical education has to offer.
The ChemEd DL has its foundation built upon the Journal of Chemical Education, the Education Division of the American Chemical Society, and the ChemCollective Project. Here, you will find resources for education that span the entire science of chemistry.
The ChemED DL also provides an online chemistry education community that covers the entire spectrum of the chemical sciences. This large community is built upon smaller communities that are characterized according to their subdiscipline of the chemical sciences or by education level. We also expect that communities will develop around areas of content in ChemEd DL, such as the periodic table or chemistry video, or around pedagogical methods, such as testing and assessment.
Our partners include:
- National Science Digital Library (NSDL)
- Journal of Chemical Education
- American Chemical Society Education Division
- The Chemistry Collective
Our collaborators include:
- NSDL Pathways: As a Pathway of NSDL, ChemEd DL collaborates with other NSDL Pathways.
- NSDL Collections: ChemEd DL collaborates with several NSDL collections related to Chemistry.
- Digital Libraries: ChemEd DL collaborates with other digital libraries. The MERLOT Chemistry community collaborates with ChemEd DL through its partner, the Journal of Chemical Education (JCE). The JCE Featured Molecule is highlighted on the MERLOT Chemistry site. Several Web sites that have been reviewed by JCE can be found at MERLOT Chemistry.
- Division of Chemical Education, Inc.
In addition, the ChemEd DL provides many opportunities to connect with a variety of communities interested in the promotion of the life-long learning and teaching of chemistry.
You may also visit our resource collections to find many diverse teaching and learning curricular materials related to all aspects of chemistry.
If you have any suggestions for future Web site enhancements please contact us.

We invite you to partner with us in developing ChemEd DL. Make use of our collaboration tools and services to help build an exemplary library of resources for teaching and learning chemistry.
